The snow (not that we had any, but hypothetically speaking) has melted, the days are getting longer, the sun is showing itself more and more and somehow that sparked a fire inside me. It’s the same every year. The urge to clean, to sort, to organize and to freshen up my life are all part of the pre spring feelings. It never fails me. Oh, and did I mention that I don’t mind it at all. I love how nature just tells me that it’s time for a new season. Whether you’re feeling the same or not, today I’m sharing some inspirational quotes and some pre-spring ideas with you.
Clean and organize
Now is the perfect time to take a closer look at all your beloved clothing items. If a task like that seems daunting to you, just ask a relative or friend to help you out! We all have clothes that are either so loved that they are falling apart, clothes that we (for whatever reason) never seem to wear and clothes that just aren’t appropriate anymore. Don’t worry about it, it happens to the best of us. Sort your clothes and either donate, give, swap or throw away.
Investing a little
You’ve cleaned out your closet, you’ve organized your clothes and now you’re feeling refreshed and sorted. Right? Yes, but you’re also wondering how you’re going to dress yourself now that you’ve said goodbye to so many of your beloved pieces. Catie to the rescue! My advice would be to make a list of items that you really need. Think about pants, work clothes, school clothes, maybe some warmer pieces or maybe you need another jacket? Prioritize the items you really need and estimate the amount of money you’d like to spend on them. You don’t need a lot of clothes to be well dressed. All you need is some creativity and logic. Think about the pieces you already have when you’re buying new ones. Do they go together, do they add anything to your wardrobe? Buy wisely and have fun with it!
Change it up
Every now and then I feel the urge to chance my room, paint my walls or add new decorations. Call me crazy but at least once a year I put the furniture in my room in different places. Just because it feels good to me. And why not, right? Big changes are fun, but small changes are definitely more achievable. Start with your bedcovers and change them into a fresh pair. Take away all the winter decorations (don’t throw away, just store them for now) and replace them with spring decorations. Go to the market, to the store or just outside and buy, pick or get something green. Yes, flowers. I’ve been loving the idea of having succulents in my room. An other great way to change things up is by either changing or adding photo’s to your room. Print out some pictures and update the ones you already have or add new ones of recent trips or memories.
Sing, dance, enjoy
Music is so important to me. Whilst I’m typing this I’m listening to my playlist on Spotify and it motivates me. I have music that gets me in the mood to read, to work, to be creative, to dance to relax. There’s music for all of us. Create a new playlist, buy a new album or ask your friends for recommendations. New music is like going to sleep in a freshly made bed. It’s awesome.
One of my favorite Youtubers, Shaycarl, always talks about “Today is the first day of the rest of your life”. Doesn’t that make you feel good? It’s a new day, a new beginning. It’s what you make of it. If you feel like there are things you’d like to do, to accomplish or start, then now’s a perfect time time to do so. With a new season coming up feel free to start the piano lessons you’ve wanted to take, make a meal plan for healthy meals, contact your family more or stay home and take time for yourself. It’s your life, take charge of it!
That’s it for today guys! Thank you so much for participating in my giveaway, I love reading your comments! If you haven’t already be sure to check it out!
